We aim to study social and collective memory through interaction with communities and the preservation and enhancement of materialised memories which are representations/portraits of society, along with maritime activities at other times.

As a result of the changing times and relations with the sea, danger, faith and miracles, ex-votos these days tend to represent only memories, frequently losing their symbolism and placed in museums where they can be preserved, exhibited and scrutinised.

The research project developed from the articulation between the city, the river and the sea. Travelling in time and space, it aims to study various sleeping materialisations, both visual and narrative.
